Eighth Grade Dance
(ineligible at 270 detention minutes)
The dance will take place in the school's cafeteria supervised by administrators and teachers.
Party dress is acceptable; however, tuxedos, formals or strapless dresses will NOT be allowed. Jeans, t-shirts and shorts are NOT allowed. The use of limousines is strictly forbidden. Students who violate the dress code or limousine rule will not be admitted to the dance.
Tickets for the dance are $20.00 each, which includes catered food, punch, dessert and photo. Tickets are sold at school the week before the dance. Each student is allowed to bring a guest if the guest is eligible at their own school. You must sign up for a quest request before the dance (June 1st - June 5th).
Day at the Beach
(ineligible at 210 detention minutes)
The day will be supervised by eighth grade core teachers. There will be a variety of sports activities. Bus transportation is free. Students are recommended to bring small coolers with lunches. Food sales are limited at the beach. REMEMBER SUNSCREEN!
All trash should be picked up before returning to school to keep the beach clean.
Award assembly/Talent Show
The award assembly will take place in the school's auditorium. Departmental and school-wide awards will be presented. This assembly is for eligible 8th grade students only. (Some special awards will be presented at the promotion ceremony.) Slelcted students will also be showing their talents.
Promotion Practice
(ineligible at 180 detention minutes)
The practice will be held in the morning. Yearbook signing will take place afterwards on 8th grade patio. Invitations and 4 tickets to Promotion ceremony will be distributed before dismissal today.
Eighth Grade Promotion Ceremonies
(ineligible at 500 detention minutes)
The ceremonies will take place by Core in the Auditorium starting at 8:30 am with Copper Core, 10:10 am Red core and 11:50 Blue Core. There is a 40 minutes break time between each to allow for transition to the next ceremony as well as take pictures on the grass area outside the Auditorium. A live feed will be provided in the Cafeteria to handle overflow and students who wish to watch other cores. Refreshments will be provided. Parking is limited in the immediate area so plan to share a ride and allow time to park. Each student will receive 4 tickets and an invitation on Thursday. Seating is on a first come first serve basis. If your family needs more tickets, then we encourage you communicate with other families to give/receive tickets.
Please be respectful of others by remaining in your seat and not blocking aisles to get a picture of your child. Pictures can be taken at the end of the ceremony.
